Cascade Cadets JV had all cylinders firing on offense on Friday, winning big over Western Boone 14-4.
In the first inning, Cascade Cadets JV got their offense started when Logan Gibbs drew a walk, scoring one run.
Cascade Cadets JV pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Garrett Bassett singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and Owen Kiplinger induced Jonas Johnson to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Cascade Cadets JV put up four runs in the fifth inning. The rally was led by a groundout by Weston Vonehrenkrook and a double by Devon Weigle.
Gibbs earned the victory on the hill for Cascade Cadets JV. The pitcher allowed one hit and four runs over four and a third innings, striking out nine. Evan Lanphier threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Kiplinger took the loss for Western Boone. The pitcher surrendered five runs on five hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four.
Cascade Cadets JV had 12 hits in the game. Bassett, Weigle, and Gibbs all managed multiple hits for Cascade Cadets JV. Gibbs, Weigle, and Bassett each managed two hits to lead Cascade Cadets JV.
